Im Jahr 2005 wurde der amerikanische Literatur-Professor und Bestseller-Autor David Foster Wallace gebeten, am Kenyon-College eine Abschlussrede für die Absolventen zu halten (sie gehört inzwischen zur Pflichtlektüre eines jeden amerikanischen Studenten).
Diese Rede (veröffentlicht in dem kleinen Buch „Das hier ist Wasser“) hat mich zu einer Predigt über die Kraft unseres Denkens inspiriert.
